The project "Roads of the Blue" in Faro is an artistic, sensory, scientific and linguistic experience for the participants of the project. We intend to engage a broad and heterogeneous audience, from ages 4 to 90, students from kindergarten to high school, teachers from different scientific fields, local artisans and the local community.
The common thread is the blue colour : the symbols of the blue color, the blue in the literature, the flowerbeds, the scientific illustration, the photography …
In Faro, we propose to create training workshops for teachers on different themes, taking advantage of the expertise and the wealth of knowledge of the trainers. In workshops we want to develop a reflection and build educational tools : educational sheets.
The training workshops will be certified by the Teacher Training Center "Ria Formosa".
At the same time, we will explore the blue in the traditional and contemporary aspects through study visits to the Museum of Azulejo, the church of São Lourenço d’Almancil, but also taking into account the work of the contemporary artist Joana Vasconcelos.
For the youngest, we create a dynamic around literature and photography competitions, and by building a contemporary art installation on the theme of blue.
Blue is a pretext, a motivation for the development of knowledge, pedagogical, professional and personal skills based on creativity and artistic expression. It is also a strategy of knowledge sharing and intercultural cooperation.
