The state institute Polo Valboite is located in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the north of Italy, in the Dolomites, a landscape inscribed in the Unesco World Natural Heritage. The economy of the area is primarily based on tourism and craftsmanship.
The institute, which has 560 students and 80 teachers, includes five schools:
A professional high school
A high school of Art (wood, fabric, design and visual arts)
A grammar high school
A high school of science
A high school of economics and marketing
The institute carries out cross-curricular objectives common to the different courses, which are based on the development of specific cultural projects concerning the environment, considered as a heritage to protect and preserve and an economic resource for a more incisive social and cultural growth.
Polo Valboite needs to develop dynamic projects to make students more engaged, confident and interested.
The subject of the project centred on the professional education linked to craftsmanship and landscape responds to the priorities of the institution.
In this project having the objective of building up a training module in the field of landscape there will be involved teachers (languages, history, geography, etc.) and professionals of design and art who need to
upgrade their knowledge and skills by employing new methods of approaching art and landscape
exchange their experiences to create, innovate and respond to the students’ needs in order to develop the competences necessary for finding new jobs in the sector of professions linked to the landscape.
