Erected between 1557 and 1558 for two Venetian nobles, brothers Daniele and Marcantonio Barbaro, the villa in Maser represents the prototype of the ideal Villa of Andrea Palladio. The great architect, in his full maturity, was able to fulfil the project according to the original line of work, thanks to an enlightened attitude of the purchasers. The Villa is composed by a central body in the shape of a temple with a front on Ionic pillars and two porticoed wings ending in gables acting as counterpoints to the central body.
