Thanks to this privileged location the Turkish, Italian and French partners have the opportunity to get to know the various professional courses provided by the prestigious and worldwide renowned "Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage" of Versailles.

In particular, the partners are introduced to the courses for the initial and continuous formation on landscape and can analyse the projects realized by the students, such as the ‘carnet du paysage’ (landscape notebook), exhibition of models, projects aimed at the research of solutions for the gardens (edges, flower-beds, trees, locations, etc.)

This meeting is an occasion for the partners to introduce their institutions, their structures, their countries, teams and objectives and to share experiences and ideas around the subject of the training on landscape.

The teachers Giuliana Corbatto, Mary Gino, Renzo De Pol and Alessandro Barozzi introduce the project of environmental education of the Istituzione Scolastica Superiore Polo Valboite, Liceo Scientifico, Istituto d’Arte of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, which represents a cross-curricular subject in particular on the theme of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage. See the presentation of this project.

The teachers Recep Erdinc Ince, Mehmet Ozkaya, Aydin Ugur Cakmak and Ozkan Kaya introduce the project of the Mugla Guzel Santlar Ve Spor Lisesi of Mugla,Turkey, tied to applied arts education, visual arts and music in a region where the economy is based on tourism and the quality of the cultural landscape.

The activities of the Association ‘Artiste No Tahiti’ of Tahiti, French Polynesia, France, made up of artists and trainers interlock with French Polynesia’s policy with an emphasis on cultural tourism and on the professional integration of young people in this sector. The association organizes training courses and cultural events -meetings, exhibitions- associated to the activity of Radio TAUI FM.

The view on landscape is also considered in its relationship with the world of work. The Istituzione Scolastica Superiore Polo Valboite, Liceo Scientifico, Istituto d’Arte of Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy and the Mugla Guzel Santlar Ve Spor Lisesi of Mugla in Turkey provide job opportunities in many professional fields: wood restoration, design, architecture, tourism, professional teaching… Why is the landscape formation a professional opportunity? It is so in order to optimise these professions, answer to the requests related to the ‘green growth’ and become more competitive on the work market… The Association Paysage and Patrimoine Sans Frontière of Saint-Germain-en-Laye in France introduces the educational tools to support the project and network its products: web pages, forums, virtual ‘carnets’, interviews…. precious instruments indispensable to our partnership made up of such far away partners: between the Association ‘Artiste No Tahiti ’ of Tahiti in French Polynesia and its partners in Europe there is a 22-hour flight!

Our first meeting is useful to set up once again the objectives of the projects and the methodologies, draw the evaluation cards, plan activities and mobility terms, re-define the tasks of each partner and positively start this project full of promises.

During the meeting the weather was totally wintry: a snowy cover lay on the splendid ‘Potager du Roi Louis XIV’ (Louis XIV’s vegetable garden) at Versailles. In spite of the cold, the participants preserve a memory of blazing sunsets on the white snowy cover and ice enlightened by the December lights on the city of Paris.
